Stephen Colbert hearts Carl Wilson too

On Monday EYE WEEKLY reported that actor James Franco dropped some Torontonian literary science at the Oscars, talking up local music critic Carl Wilson’s Let’s Talk About Love: A Journey to the End of Taste during a red-carpet interview. This bit of unlikely weirdness ricocheted around the Interwebs and got to Comedy Central, where Wilson will be appearing next week on The Colbert Report.

Is he psyched? Nervous about Colbert’s penchant for cleverer-than-thou jokestering with his guests? Says Wilson via Facebook message: “I'm both excited and scared. But I think that Colbert's way of making fun of you is usually actually in service of the idea — they set you up to be humiliated and well-served simultaneously. It's a really delicate balancing act but they're great at it.”

Watch on Wednesday, March 4th (only seven sleeps away) on the Comedy Network (channel 44) at 11:30pm or on CTV (channel 8, or channel 9 on Fuzzyvision for those without cable) at 12:30am.
