Last week, EYE WEEKLY's Chandler Levack counted off the top 10 most anticipated concerts of 2010. Well, they just announced No. 11.In the wake of last year's cancelled Toronto Island concert, curators Broken Social Scene will make amends (and then some) by bringing the most in-demand reunion tour of the year to Toronto — on June 19, they'll host reformed '90s indie-rock icons Pavement at the island for the band's first local appearance since their Guvernment date back in June of 1999. (Which means local fans can hold off on booking that road trip to New York or Chicago.) Joining Pavement and BSS at the concert will be Sub Pop sad-rock faves Band of Horses. Tickets are $57.50 (including ferry transport) and go on sale Friday, Jan. 22, 10am at the Horseshoe, Soundscapes, Rotate This and Ticketmaster. And to get you extra excited, Matador Records will release the first career-spanning Pavement compilation, Quarantine the Past: The Best of Pavement, on March 9, along with low-price reissues of the entire Pavement catalogue on vinyl. Go back to those Gold Soundz indeed.
