Lucie Tic @ Stacked Launch
WITH BETTI FORDE, BRANDON SEK, FAWN BIG CANOE, JOHNNY HOCKIN, MARK MENY. THU, NOV 19. ANDY POOLHALL, 489 COLLEGE. FREE.

Borrowing its name from StinkMitt member, DJ and new Torontonian Betti Forde’s longtime Vancouver club night, new weekly Stacked lives up to its title. Not only did Forde quickly come on board when DJ and dancer Lucie Tic began drafting a cast of rotating residents, so too did influential DJs Brandon Sek (CurbCrawlers), Mark Meny (Peer Pressure), Fawn Big Canoe (Tightknit) and Johnny Hockin (More Proof). It’s an eclectic, electric crew who, among them, are out to blend anything that’s good.

Marc Romboy @ Y2BOK
WITH DJS FABIO PALERMO, HALI, JAMIE KIDD, MIKE GIBBS. FRI, NOV 20. PIA BOUMAN BALLET SCHOOL, 6 NOBLE. $20 ADVANCE TICKETS AT PLAY DE RECORD, SHANTI BABA, MOOG AUDIO, SLIDESHOW CAFÉ, PLASTIC WRAP, STUDIO GANG.

One of the greatest nights out dancing I’ve ever had was when Berlin’s Marc Romboy turned Footwork inside out in early 2006. By then, Romboy already had a huge buzz surrounding both his own productions and his Systematic Recordings label’s high-quality, highly sensual tech-house releases, by artists including Booka Shade. Romboy’s in town to help the Box of Kittens DJs celebrate the second anniversary of their successful series.

Tycho (Live)
WITH AARNIO, NOAH PRED. FRI, NOV 20. NOCTURNE, 550 QUEEN W. $10 ADVANCE FROM FUNCTION13, WWW.THEGHOSTLYSTORE.COM; $15 DOOR.

As ISO50, San Fran’s Scott Hansen creates striking illustrated print works that have adorned surfaces including the downtempo, ambient and IDM releases he’s created under the pseudonym Tycho. Best known for his two dreamy singles on Ghostly International, he’ll perform a live set; earlier that day, his ISO50 art show, dubbed Analog Vision, opens at Function 13 Gallery (156 Augusta).

Bonjay @ Gimme Gimme Release Party
WITH POIRIER, VALEO. SAT, NOV 21. TERANGA, 159 AUGUSTA. $8.

Birthed in Ottawa and now based here, Bonjay is the dancehall, soul, hip-hop and pop-loving duo of vocalist Alanna Stuart and DJ/producer Pho. Bonjay first turned heads in ’07. Since then, they’ve released only a trickle of remixes, but their new Gimmee Gimmee EP gives us a more confident and bold Bonjay, with both the title track and “Faat Gyal” blazing new, fresh and bass-bumping trails.

M.A.N.D.Y.
WITH NITIN, JONNY WHITE, DUVALL. THU, NOV 19. THE SOCIAL, 1100 QUEEN W. $15 ADVANCE FROM ROTATE THIS, SOUNDSCAPES, PLAY DE RECORD, WANTICKETS.COM.

The men of M.A.N.D.Y. — Berlin’s Patrick Bodmer and Philipp Jung — have had a busy 2009. Not only has the tech-house twosome spent much of it touring (Jung played The Social this past April) and continued to co-run the excellent Get Physical label, they’ve also been mixing up a storm. In September, M.A.N.D.Y. gave us an overview of the label’s catalogue with their fantastic, 24-track Get Physical 7th Anniversary Compilation. Now, they take their diversity even further via the new double mix-CD, Renaissance: The Mix Collection. Jung returns to town in support of the release.
