WHO Garage house aficionado DJ Lonewolf has been spinning soulful, deep house on Toronto dancefloors since 1987. From his days frequenting the city’s first dance club, the legendary Twilight Zone, to later promoting parties and then DJs and artists through his Disc 12 production company, Lonewolf rightfully earned the alias Soul Hustler. His renowned efforts over the years to keep the scene alive include after-hours parties, concerts and special events like The Soul Hustler’s Convention. Inspired by early American garage and house producers and singers including CeCe Rogers, Masters At Work and François K, Lonewolf produces uplifting music with a message of peace. He’s currently working on the follow-up to his last release “Big Tune” on Camio Recordings. With his evident passion for moving people through music, who better to take Toronto on a flashback this weekend than DJ Lonewolf alongside some of the city’s original house honchos?
WHAT Soul, garage, disco, vocal deep house, neo soul and nu jazz, “with a taste of funk for good measure,” says Lonewolf.
