Oiling up the naked bodies

On sunny weekends, Hanlan’s Point Beach on Toronto Island is packed with people and looks like the Toronto version of Fort Lauderdale during Spring Break (but it’s refreshingly frat-boy free). The water is crystal clear too. That is, up until the boats invade. Along the clothing-optional section — also the more populated part of the beach — there is no barrier to prevent boats from pulling right in and anchoring. When they do, it’s the equivalent of parking an SUV in a park. Just one boat can discharge an oil slick that covers much of the water and anybody who tries to enjoy the lake.
