EYE WEEKLY Review:

Who knew that Torontonians so loved a good ambulance visit? Paramedic Morgan Jones Phillips, a natural storyteller and a total dude, has the stories to prove it. In each performance he offers up a random selection of his hilarious, cringe-worthy anecdotes that take the audience into the basements and backyards of their foolhardy fellow citizens. On opening night, we got the one about electrocution by way of raccoon-chasing, the one about the hanging and — what’s the polite way to put this? — the one about the blasé self-castrator. Not for the squeamish.

“What’s the worst thing you’ve ever seen?” If you ask a Paramedic, don’t be surprised when the answer doesn’t give you warm fuzzies. This hilarious and thought provoking piece of storytelling is sure to make an impression as it tells the bizarre, ridiculous and true side of EMS. Winner of the 2008 NOW Audience Choice Award at SummerWorks.
