Greektown grows up

They still call it “Greektown,” though today this heritage is more evident in its many mega-souvlaki palaces than anywhere else. The east-end strip that runs along the subway line through Riverdale is a pub-hopper’s paradise, with a strong locavore food culture. It’s populated by waves of young parents drawn by proximity to the sprawling Withrow and Riverdale Parks and the famously excellent local public schools.
