Roncesvalles may be named after a Spanish town, but this is a historically Polish neighbourhood. Remnants include Polish pharmacies and delis, several churches, and a statue of Pope John Paul II. The aging Polish population is now outnumbered by young, rapidly reproducing couples. Local shops—Korean grocers selling fresh produce, indie boutiques, and a coffee shop on almost every block—cater to families and creative types.
