JESSE ROSE @ RE-CONNECTED
With DJ Dan, Hatiras, Stretch & Hooker, more. Fri, Mar 14. CiRCA, 126 John. $15 advance tickets at Rotate This, Soundscapes, Play De Record, Ticketweb.ca. $20 before 11pm, $25 after.
Members of veteran promoters Dose partner with A.D/D’s Randomland to bring generations of ravers together. There’s a load of big talent in the mix, including Jesse Rose — a Londoner based in Berlin who crafts funky, shuffling electro and house for labels such as Dubsided and his own Made to Play. Keep an ear out for Rose’s forthcoming label comp, Playing Around.

DJ SNEAK @ THE KERRITY
QUEEN STREET WEST FIRE FUNDRAISER
With DJs Mario J, Nitin, Ludikris. Sat, Mar 15. Footwork, 425 Adelaide W. $20.
House is rooted in community. It’s fitting then that house heads will come together to support Keri Warian and Charity Doone, two of the many people who lost everything in the Feb. 20 Queen Street fire. Four fantastic local DJs are dedicating their time to the event, including DJ Sneak — house music legend and the man behind the Magnetic and Oomph labels. All proceeds will go to Warian and Doone.

DIRTY DALE @ SOLID GARAGE

With DJs Groove Institute, Brenner aka i-iz-b. Sat, Mar 15. Andy Poolhall, 489 College. $5.
As the Groove Institute DJ collective bring their 10-years-young event to the newly expanded Andy Poolhall, they’re expanding on the party’s sound as well. Solid Garage is known for soulful house and garage, but local DJ Dirty Dale also gets deep with more jackin’ vibes. Dale heads up the Warehouse Jacks dance crew and is a promising producer. Adding to the mix will be Brenner, a DJ known for blending hip-hop, jazz and D&B with house.

AMP FIDDLER
With Tortured Soul. Sun, Mar 16. The Mod Club, 722 College. $20 at Rotate This, Sonic Temple, Ticketmaster.
A funk and jazz multi-instrumentalist from Detroit, Joseph “Amp” Fiddler has worked with the likes of George Clinton, J Dilla and more. He’s a keyboard whiz and songwriting sensation with a gorgeous voice and a dapper dress sense. Amp’s ‘04 Waltz of a Ghetto Fly put him on the map, but his brand new album Afro Strut takes things to a whole other level of raw goodness.

RYE RYE @ MEAN BUSINESS
With DJs Grahm, Fistfight. Wed, Mar 19. The Social, 1100 Queen W. $5.
17-year-old Baltimore MC/singer Rye Rye has an impressive future ahead of her. She’s signed to Diplo’s Mad Decent label, dominates Blaqstarr’s Baltimore club anthem “Shake it to the Ground” and can also be heard on his remix of M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes.” As if that didn’t already make her part of the cool crowd, Rye Rye’s strong voice, tight raps and dance moves also earned her a spot on recent M.I.A. tour dates. Catch her while you can.
