Do Me, Baby

Blah blah blah Web 2.0. When is all this user-generated talk going to turn into action? As soon as you hit this link to viral animation startup JibJab’s latest project, which lets you put your singing, rapping head on Snoop Dogg’s body in the “Sensual Seduction” video. Just upload a photo of yourself like I did (pictured), crop your avatar to head size, adjust the settings so that your animated jaw-flapping looks real, and you’re off. It costs $3 to share the video with your friends an unlimited number of times, but really, what price pimpin’? (http://tinyurl.com/5qrx8e)

TECHNO PRISONERS
A few years ago, blogs like Discobelle and Fluo Kids opened the free-DJ-mix floodgates with dozens of electro-tech-blog-house sets. Now that we’re all sick of them, it’s time to go back to hunting for better dance music. The latest instalment of the Adult Swim free mixes features techno from Detroit’s Ghostly International, including a gloriously bumpin’, glitchy mess from Matthew Dear as well as left-field cuts from Michna and Toronto’s own Milosh. There’s also the DFA’s perennially classic Radio Mixes. Justin Miller and Jacques Renault’s disco-fried entry for Spring ’08 will familiarize you with up-and-coming DFA signings Syclops and Holy Ghost. And for more of their steez, the Museum of Modern Art in NYC has put up sets by Miller and Renault, Holy Ghost and more from a DFA-hosted party MOMA threw back in March. Even the frigging museums in New York throw better parties than we do. (Adult Swim: http://tinyurl.com/6e5xnw; DFA: http://tinyurl.com/57eodh; MOMA: http://tinyurl.com/6bb8df)

MP3 OF THE WEEK
Paul Stanley, People, Let Me Get This Off My Chest: The Very Best of Paul Stanley’s Onstage Banter: “I’m packin’ a gun tonight. I’m packin’ my pistol. You know what I’m talking about, don’t you Bismarck? Talkin’ about my six-shooter of sex. My Uzi of ooze. You know what it all comes down to. I’m talkin’ about my ‘Love Gun’!” (www.eggcityradio.com)
