The Canadian National Exhibition turns barren parking lots into a fantasyland for two weeks each year, but it also creates a fantasy version of the TTC that we might wish stuck around all year. If you’re heading north or south on the west side, the frequency of the Bathurst 511 streetcar and 29 Dufferin bus has been increased so much that you can usually see the next one coming a few blocks away. Not having that sinking feeling when you see a TTC vehicle pull away from your stop is a novelty that will disappear when the Ex does.
