EYE WEEKLY Review:
A real band adds an exciting
element to the shadow-cast presentation of Blue Velvet: almost
all the songs on the soundtrack are performed live. The cast employ
a range of unusual props, including bubbles and a pogo stick, to reflect
(invert?) the sexy bits. This steamy, silly exercise extends the life
of the classic ’80s film with profundity and passion. As Jeffrey and
Dorothy, Furey and Fallak are hot, and the rest of the cast — including
the fun-to-watch Ryan Hinds — are fabulous.
