WHO: Liz Worth, 26, Fringe festival publicist, freelance journalist and author of the forthcoming book Treat Me Like Dirt: An Oral History of Punk in Toronto and Beyond (fall 2008, Bongo Beat).
WHAT: A studio apartment above a dollar store in Kensington. “The location had me thinking ‘yes’ before I even saw the place,” says Worth. “Living in Kensington Market is like living in the centre of the universe. Everything you need is right here.”
Worth painted her apartment bright, get-happy colours like pink, lime, lavender and blue. The unusual lack of windows is made up for by the skylights. “They’re great because they let so much light in all day, and they open up to let in a lot of fresh air. The one in the bedroom was also full of glow-in-the-dark stars left over from some previous tenant.”
