Who: Ange Beever (left) and Robin Woodward, accessory artists for Barbie’s Basement Jewellery (416-466-3759, www.bbj.ca); Luna, cat; and Loretta, goldfish.

What:
Two-storey apartment at Queen and Pape.

1. The lamp, a gift from Woodward’s mom, is a replica of the lighting fixtures they had around the house growing up. “It’s kind of a joke,” admits Woodward, “but I love it.”

2. The headless sculpture, which is by local artist Julie Moon (www.juliemoon.ca), was a gift to the couple from Woodward’s brother. “She’s just a really cool artist,” says Woodward.

3. “We just bought the Wendy Walgate (www.walgate.com) sculpture this year as our big treat,” says Woodward, referring to the slip cast ceramics artist who matches sculpted animals with found objects. “We chose animals like butterflies and beavers that are meaningful to us, and they’re displayed on a Czechoslovakian milk pitcher from the ’30s.”

4. Beever commissioned Cobie Crawford to create this print based on a Chick Publications religious tract that she found in a bathroom. “The chapbooks are meant to make people love Jesus, and it seems like they’re everywhere,” says Woodward.

5. Beever and Woodward made the glitter painting of Jane Fonda based on the movie poster for 1971’s Klute, but the fandom goes both ways: “We got an order from Jane on our website for a pair of Barbarella cufflinks,” says Woodward. “That was a real vote of confidence for us!”

6. “Ange’s dad called from Quebec to ask what her favourite Madonna album was,” recounts Woodward. He came home from the trip with this framed copy of True Blue made by Machin Chouette (www.machinchouette.com), who exhibits often at Toronto’s One of a Kind Show.

7. The lounge chairs and sofa were purchased by Beever’s mom in England in 1967, and she brought them with her to Canada when she emigrated. They used to be upholstered with white shag, but the couple have changed the fabric several times.

8. The pair picked up the dining room set from Ethel (1091 Queen E., 416-778-6608, www.ethel20thcenturyliving.com), an antique store in Leslieville. The table and chairs were manufactured in the Midwestern US around the 1950s.
