Editorial Rating:

If this history of “Ozploitation” filmmaking is to be believed, Australian cinema is less accurately epitomized by the likes of Picnic at Hanging Rock than by Not Quite Hollywood’s array of vulgar T&A comedies, Corman-calibre horror flicks and biker movies. Mark Hartley’s high-velocity doc plays like an extra-long trailer for the sleaziest, silliest and possibly greatest movie ever made. The pile-up of film clips and interview soundbites — from luminaries like George Miller, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Barry “Dame Edna” Humphries — is catnip for geeks. And yes, you do get to see a man fight a kangaroo.
